Important Conference Update
We regret to inform you that the RLT and the CPT have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s regional conference in Springfield, which was to be held November 3-5. When we considered the extremely low registration numbers and the effect this would have on the complete conference experience for participants and presenters, coupled with the financial implications for our region, it became clear to us that holding the conference this year would not be responsible. But more importantly, it was clear that we would not be able to provide the holistic conference experience that makes ACUI so important to so many of us. Our speakers, session presenters, and conference staff were prepared to provide the outstanding educational experience that you have come to expect, but the personal experience–interacting with each other in both formal and informal settings–would not have been at the level that we wanted to provide.
Some housekeeping items related to the cancellation:
If you remain interested in a regional conference experience this year, there are neighboring regions hosting conferences in Manhattan, Kansas and at the University of Montana. These conferences and more can be found online. Members of the Central Office team can help apply your Region V conference credit to another regional experience, annual conference, or any future ACUI event.
- Refunds: Your registration fees will be refunded to you from the central office, in the same format in which you paid. More information can be found here.
- Hotel cancellations will vary based on how you made your reservation. Please contact your hotel directly for more information.
- Awards: Award keepsakes will be mailed to recipients at their institutional address. Award winners will be featured in upcoming social media posts and an email to the Region. They will also be acknowledged during the regional meeting at the annual conference in Denver in March.
